The story

Maui-grown coffee is unlike any other coffee in the world. The unparalleled flavor, natural oil content, and smooth, non-acidic finish makes Lava Java’s coffee second to none. Scott and Julie Patterson, the owners of Lava Java Coffee Roasters of Maui, were aware of the unique properties of Maui coffee when they opened their business in 2008. Since then, they have prided themselves on providing locals and visitors alike with the best coffee experience on Maui. The Pattersons work with several upcountry farmers to produce Lava Java’s “famous“ Kula Coffee – a product that gained notoriety over a decade ago when 250 Kona coffee starter plants found a new home on the slopes of Haleakala. The seeds that came from these now-priceless trees are the direct source of Lava Java’s most popular coffees.
