The story

Family owned and operated since 1992. Founded and operated by Misha Sperka and being taken over by his son Erik Sperka. We grow 100% Kona Coffee. Our coffee is grown on our trees on our ten acre farm. Processed using the pulper, drying miller, and roaster we own and operate for ourselves a dozen other small farms. The coffee is packaged onsite and does not leave the farm until is ready to be shipped off.

Common questions

Visiting Old Hawaiian Coffee

Can I just drop by Old Hawaiian Coffee, or do I need to book in advance?

Old Hawaiian Coffee is a working farm, not a drop-in café. Visits are by pre-arrangement only, so contact them through their website before making the trip to Captain Cook.

What does the farm tour cover?

The tour is a personal walkthrough of the entire operation, covering the different stages of coffee production from cultivation and hand-picking through pulping, drying, milling, and small-batch roasting. It's designed to give visitors a genuine look at traditional Kona coffee methods.

Is the coffee available year-round?

Availability is tied to the annual harvest, so supply can be limited at certain times of year. Check their website or reach out directly to confirm current stock before visiting.

Do they sell and ship beans directly to the mainland?

Yes, Old Hawaiian Coffee sells their 100% Pure Estate Grown Kona coffee farmer-direct and ships to the mainland. They've also run a monthly Coffee Club continuously since 1992 for regular deliveries.

What makes Old Hawaiian Coffee different from other Kona farms?

Every step of production—growing, hand-picking, pulping, drying, milling, and small-batch roasting—takes place on their ten-acre estate, so beans never leave the property until they're ready to ship. They also process beans for about a dozen other small Kona-area farms.

What format does the coffee come in?

Old Hawaiian Coffee sells their 100% Pure Estate Grown Kona coffee farmer-direct, with availability tied to the annual harvest. They also offer a monthly Coffee Club, running continuously since 1992, for regular deliveries; contact them through oldhawaiiancoffee.com for current formats and stock.
