The story

In 2000, surfing buddies turned successful restaurateurs Louis Coulombe and Stephan Bel-Robert, purchased undeveloped upcountry land with a citrus and stone fruit orchard and a few coffee trees. O’o Farm inaugurated coffee production in 2005 by importing 60 coffee starts of Red Catuai (97%) and Yellow Cattura from Kāʻanapali. Plantings from the farm’s seedlings continue over 8.4 acres with approximately 1200 tree sites, predominantly Red Catuai. O’o Farm became a competitive level producer of single-site coffee in 2015 and earned its first state title in 2016 with 3rd place in Maui District.

Common questions

Visiting O'o Farm

Do you need to book in advance to visit O'o Farm?

Yes, advance booking is required — O'o Farm does not accept walk-ins. All visits are guided tour experiences that must be reserved ahead of time through oofarm.com/tours.

What does the O'o Farm tour include and how much does it cost?

Tours are $139 per person and include a guided seed-to-cup coffee journey through the farm along with a farm-to-table brunch or lunch prepared with freshly harvested ingredients. Dishes have featured items like coffee-rubbed chicken and coffee cherry chocolate truffles.

Is O'o Farm open on weekends?

No, O'o Farm is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Tours run Monday through Friday, with farm hours listed as 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

What makes O'o Farm different from a typical Hawaii coffee stop?

O'o Farm is a working regenerative farm in the Kula highlands of upcountry Maui, not a café. The experience centers on a guided walk through coffee orchards, vegetable gardens, and fruit trees, paired with a multi-course farm-to-table meal — it's a culinary outing that happens to feature coffee.

Can I buy O'o Farm coffee beans and have them shipped to the mainland?

O'o Farm is a working farm with guided tour experiences, not a retail shop, and their listed information does not confirm online bean sales or direct shipping to the mainland. Contact them through oofarm.com to ask about purchasing their single-site Hawaiian coffee.

Where exactly is O'o Farm and how do I get there?

O'o Farm is located at 651 Waipoli Rd in Kula, in the upcountry Maui highlands above town. The drive involves winding mountain roads, so allow extra travel time and check conditions before heading up, especially in wet weather.
